Pada tanggal 11-12 Oktober (di Amersfoort, Belanda),World Population Foundation dan Rutgers Nisso Groep menyelenggarakan konferensi dua hari: SEXUALITAS DIBAWAH 18 Tahun: Bagaimana Lingkungan Sosial mempengaruhi Perkembangan Seksual.
Terdapat enam belas workshop dalam empat sesi paralel.
Tiap-tiap workshop menghasilkan sebuah rekomendasi.
Sepuluh Juri remaja dari Pakistan, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Rwanda, Uganda, El Salvador, Belanda, dengan teliti memilih sepuluh poin aksi untuk ditindak lanjuti.
Sepuluh poin aksi tersebut sbb:
We as professionals community, commited to:
- Keep each other updated and involved on the ICPD+20 process through emails, meetings and conferences.
- Enggage Media for Sexual and reproductive health and rights awareness and education and equip young people with media literacy skills
- Train Medical student about HIV positivity, sex and how to reduce stigma related to the issue
- Ensure that we, being service providers (practitioners, peer educators, etc) respect the client’s knowledge (religious) values and attitude towards sexuality
- Engage men, particularly young men, in gender-based interventions and efforts to make more use of contraseptives and organise next meeting.
- Enhance our efforts to advocate for the SRHR of LGBTIQ people
- Involve parents, teachers and religious leaders in designing & implementation of comprehensive sexuality Education (CSE) programs to make sure that youth gets CSE in school and out of school
- Build the confidence of young people under 18 by using innovative communication strategies to freely talk about sexuality issues and access SRHR services
- Involve Healthcare providers by providing them health protocols on safe abortion
- Ensure meaningful youth participation at all levels (Planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation) by acknowledging the specific needs of young people through youth-adult partnership.
